Crack open locks for gold rewards. Three difficulty tiers — each with different base success rates, reward ranges, and risk profiles. DEX + INT both improve your chances.

Formula

Base% + DEX bonus + INT bonus (± random variance)

Hard difficulty has a critical failure chance — you lose a fine equal to the reward range (100–150g).

⚙️ How It Works

  • DEX and INT both contribute to success chance above the base
  • Easy and Medium: on failure you simply get nothing — no penalty
  • Hard: critical failure possible — you pay a fine instead of earning gold
  • Lucky Coin passive adds +5% to success chance at all difficulties
  • Luck Charm adds +20% success chance (consumed on use)

💡 Tips

  • Start on Easy to build up gold, then move to Hard once DEX+INT is 10+
  • Save Luck Charms for Hard difficulty to avoid critical failures
  • Hard mode expected value beats Easy at DEX+INT ≥ ~8 even without charms
  • Lockpicking counts toward Remy's Arrangement quest chain
